Enterprise Automation/Malcolm-Racing Take Home Two Third Place Finishes in Debut at NASA's California Speedway Event


The Team Enterprise Automation/Malcolm-Racing started off their 2008 season with great weather and a great track - California Speedway, in Fontana, CA. After the off season, both the car and driver, Derrick Malcolm, got off to a good start. With the warm up, the team got a feel of the car and broke in a set of new Hankook sticker tires. The car continued to feel good in qualifying and Malcolm turned in a fast lap of 1:59.8 placing him 3rd in class and 13th out of 42 cars overall.

The actual start of the race season got off to a slow start as the field was made to complete a second agonizing pace lap around the 2.8 mile course when the starter was not pleased with the line up of the field. By the second time around, the green flag was finally dropped and Malcolm got caught hitting the rev limiter in second gear and fell back six places heading into NASCAR turn 1.
